As most of you know I recently moved to NYC and getting around has been fun but I have also never relied so much on Yelp or Google in my life. Since most of my time is spent at the office and our team is growing we created a Check inon Foursquare. Finding things to do and eat near work is fairly easy but in the small periods of time when I'm home (and especially hungry) and after watching my partner Stephanie get tips about cool places in our apartment in East Village I finally caved and downloaded Fourquare for Blackberry. Now the fun...
New to Foursquare I have become habitual at checking in, so for a week it was frustrating every time I came home Foursquare would think I'm at Canaan Partners. Very tempting late at night getting home to check in and see this beautiful little button "Canaan...check in" Finally I couldn't take it anymore, and decided that now every time I am home I will be checking in to Canaan Partners. So far no one has complained or noticed, in fact it has cracked a few followers up especially friends who are also familiar with Canaan Partners as a venture firm as well as check in point.
Jason Baptiste (OnSwipe) and Nathaniel McNamara (SocialFeet) have joined in the fun every time they come to visit me. If you are in the hood I highly recommend joining in the fun, you can also check in to Canaan from RedHead Bar on 13th Street. Cheers.
